Mirealle climbing closer to PC release

Monument Valley-styled isometric puzzler coming soon to Steam
For those who love quiet, relaxing puzzlers, there's good news while waiting for the PC release of Monument Valley 3 later this month. While not arriving quite as soon, there's a similar sort of adventure on its way soon enough, in the form of qovagames' upcoming Mirealle.
As to be expected with games of this type, there aren't a lot of background story details provided for Mirealle, as it's up to players to discover its secrets for themselves. What we do know is that the world has "split into thousands of islands and it still whispers about the past to those who are willing to listen." On one such secluded island, a young girl named Ayra "lives in silence and harmony with her trusty friend." However, an ancient prophecy suggests Ayra will have a much bigger part to play, and "one day, her world changes and she starts her journey through forgotten ruins left behind by those who once lived there."
One look at the screenshots and you might think you were actually seeing a new Monument Valley installment – and perhaps even second and third looks. Mirealle shares many elements in common with ustwo's acclaimed series, with its lovely dream-like graphics, isometric perspective and miniature self-contained environments as you traverse from island to floating island. Gameplay too is similar, with a rotatable landscape and lots of environmental obstacles for its tiny protagonist to navigate with your help, requiring "not only logic but also observation skills ... to awake mechanisms and open the way further." Throughout this cozy, "meditative puzzle adventure about traveling through forgotten lands," you can stop and leisurely "feel the warmth of abandoned places, the whisper of clouds and the breath of ruins, where each location is a story frozen in time." There is no linear plot to uncover, but rather a series of small "touching and mysterious ... stories told in the form of a magical fairytale that makes you reflect on loss, hope and the power of care."
There is no firm target release date for Mirealle just yet, but the game is listed as "coming soon" to Windows PC and is now ready for wishlisting on Steam.
