Heir of the Dog and the Fairest Conventions (with Tom Hardwidge)

They’re baaaaaack… Call off the search party, as Joshua and Jack aren’t dead after all. Only our YouTube channel is. Ugh. The guys briefly discuss the woes behind that unfortunate event before turning their attention to much better news: games! So. Many. Games. Some are already out (Theropods, Roots in the Sky, Dimhaven and more) and some due imminently (Sleepytime Village, Tom the postgirl, Allogloom), including the rather surprise launch announcement from Heir of the Dog, the new game from the creator of Lucy Dreaming.

Speak of the devil (the loveable kind), the always delightful Tom Hardwidge of Tall Story Games dropped by to share his thoughts on his new Jekyll-and-Hyde-inspired adventure. He also game a progress update on Adventures of a Cat in Space (and its relentless earworm of a theme song that Jack will never NOT be able to get out of his head), and a little about the upcoming AdventureX, which Tom is the “director” of, which this year mainly means letting other people do all the work. (He’s a sly one.)

Gaming conventions, of course, are near and dear to Jack and Joshua’s hearts as well, having launched the Adventure Game Fan Fair in 2024, so after chatting about the challenges and rewards of hosting such events, the show wraps with a heartfelt top five of everyone’s most memorable convention moments.
